Following Songtsam's launch of the "Aerial Yunnan-Tibet Route" in 2019—the first long-distance,
low-altitude civilian sightseeing route in China—Songtsam introduced a new range of low-altitude travel and sightseeing flights across the Greater Shangri-La region in 2025.
These flights made it possible for travelers to look down upon the Three Parallel Rivers region from the air.
Songtsam's low-altitude journeys open a new gateway to the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and offer an entirely new way to experience the region.
They reduce the discomfort associated with long drives and steep mountain roads at high altitude while providing an unprecedented perspective—an eagle's-eye view—from which to take in this extraordinary landscape: dry-hot river valleys, grassland pastures, great rivers and deep gorges, and, of course, seemingly endless snow-capped peaks and glaciers.
