Pick-up from Lijiang Sanyi International Airport and check into Songtsam Linka Lijiang.

Welcome dinner at the hotel.

After breakfast take part in a children’s Plant Magic workshop in a traditional century-old Naxi courtyard at the foot of Wenbi Mountain. Understand the basics of plant ecology and make your own natural handmade soap using local ingredients.

Lunch at the hotel.

In the afternoon depart for Tacheng stopping off at the First Bend of the Yangtze River and passing by Shigu Village on the way. Continue  to enjoy idyllic scenery and the Naxi people along the Yangtze River Valley.

Arrive in Tacheng and check into Songtsam Lodge Tacheng.

Dinner at the lodge.

After breakfast head out on a picnic adventure.

Pick fresh vegetables from the vegetable garden, and take a stroll along the valley stream nearby, where you can encounter a variety of wild fungi.

You and your children will work together to make a fire, wash vegetables, cook, and finally enjoy a natural delicious picnic lunch together in nature.

Return to the lodge to enjoy afternoon tea and the children can make their own Herbarium identification book. Picking various plants and flowers from the garden, they can learn about the different flora of the area.

After breakfast visit the Yunnan Golden Monkey National Park. The Xianggujing Forest is a natural paradise for the protection of rare animals and the endangered Yunnan snub-nosed monkey, totally less than 3000 animals. They usually feed on lichen found on trees or bamboo leaves and other more seasonal plants.

For lunch visit a local restaurant to taste the area’s famous Nixi chicken hotpot.

In the afternoon depart for Benzilan, arrive and check into Songtsam Lodge Benzilan.

Enjoy afternoon tea outside in the courtyard.

After breakfast go on leisurely hike through Niding Forest, which is a beautiful primeval forest filled with towering Yunnan and Huashan pine trees and an abundance of peonies, azaleas and irises.

Mushroom season happens during the summer, where you will be able to find and pick matsutake and porcini mushrooms.

Enjoy a picnic in the forest for lunch.

In the afternoon depart for Shangri-La. Stop off at Napa Lake on the way, which is both an ideal field for herdsmen and a paradise for many species of birds. This area is also a grazing ground for yaks, pigs, horses, and for farmers to hang their barley and turnips to dry.

After breakfast visit Songzanlin Monastery to learn about the murals inside that have been circulating for thousands of years. The profound truth and the wisdom of the ancestors’ lives can be found here and the education of children’s enlightenment in the Tibetan area comes from these murals.

In the afternoon take part in a Thangka painting workshop to learn and understand the craftsmanship and techniques needed to make the delicate and intricate Tibetan Buddhist art.

After breakfast transfer to Diqing Shangri-La Airport.
